Here’s how to get some good furniture deals:
Buy from furniture rental stores. They sell returned furniture often at garage sale prices. (Usually in good shape)
Carpeting: some carpet stores sell large remnants at a fraction of the Roll price.
Consignment Stores, Craigs List & Classifieds
Antique Stores – They may have some non-collectible furniture pieces;
they’d love to sell at a deal!
Also, mix old and new- a blend of classic and modern creates a timeless look that isn’t stuck in an Era. More to Come
If you find a great Chair that’s Traditional (but the wood is not in too good shape) paint it in a shiny laquer finish and it will make the piece sexy and be a conversation piece.
If the wood is great, but the fabric is bad – cover it in patent leather -dynamite look!
Always have an anchor piece. You want to ground the room with at least one strong large piece of furniture. A solid covered sofa, a pair of chairs and go from there…… More to Come
